product description Ultrasonic level sensor TS-UNS
The ultrasonic level sensor TS-UNS is used for the continuous level measurement of liquids or solids, such as liquids in tanks or bulk solids in open or closed storage facilities. The measuring method works without contact to the measured media and is therefore almost maintenance-free and independent of the product properties. The TS-UNS emits short ultrasonic pulses, which are reflected by the surface of the medium. The reflections are detected by the sound converter inside the sensor head. Since the signal transit time is proportional to the fill level of the container, the fill level is calculated using the runtime method.
Five sensor versions with measuring ranges starting at 0.1 ... 1 m up to 0.5 ... 20 m are available. The process connection of the IP 65 PVDF housing results from the selected measuring range. The acquired measured value can optionally be output as 4 ... 20 mA or 0 ... 10 V DC analog output or as a RS-485 Modbus RTU signal. The ultrasonic level sensor TS-US can be configured quickly and easily via two buttons directly on the sensor. Alternatively, sensor programming by means of a magnetic pen, instead of buttons, is available to eliminate unauthorized programming of the sensor. Both sensor versions also display the sensor status with two LEDs directly on the sensor. The electrical connection is available with solenoid valve plug (MVS/A), M12x1 circular connectors or a cable outlet.
Optionally, the ultrasonic level sensor TS-UNS with 4 ... 20 mA analog output is also available as an intrinsically safe ATEX version. The intrinsically safe Ex version of the TS-US is approved for use in potentially explosive atmospheres acc. Ex II 1 / 2G Ex ia IIB T5 Ga / Gb.
Further technical details can be found in the data sheet of the ultrasound level sensor TS-UNS.
Detailed information on installation and use of the ultrasonic level sensor TS-UNS, especially the mandatory installation conditions (tank dimensions, blind zone of the ultrasonic sensor head, foaming, etc.) are explained in the installation and operating instructions of the ultrasound level sensor TS-UNS.
